Volunteers and Storytellers

Hold a thread across a handoff.

If you can write, organize, design, navigate, translate, or hold a relationship across a hard moment, JSPHI can put your contribution somewhere useful.

  • Writing and storytelling. Help us name what we are hearing in language the right rooms can use.
  • Community organizing. Hold listening sessions, coordinate partner gatherings, follow up after convenings.
  • Design and visual communication. Plain-language materials, partner-facing tools, public-facing reports.
  • Community health work and peer navigation. Walk alongside families through the seams.
  • Faith and civic leadership. Hold trusted entry points where JSPHI cannot.
  • Student support. Research, synthesis, internships across public health, policy, design, and communications.
  • Community storytelling. Carry what is happening in your zip code into the public record.

Some volunteers work on a specific project for a few weeks. Some hold a standing relationship across a year. Some pay forward an introduction once. JSPHI will be honest about what your contribution would mean and what we can offer back, access to the work, professional reference, and where appropriate, formal recognition.

For people who want to support through writing, organizing, design, community health work, peer navigation, faith-based leadership, student support, or community storytelling.
